Role of Yemen in present-day events in light of hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Question to Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi:

It has been narrated to us from Abdullah that Abi Thana Abd ar-Razaq narrated from al-Munther bin Nu'man al-Aftas that he said: "I heard Wahb narrating that Ibn Abbas said, the Prophet (pbuh) said: 'An army of twelve-thousand will come out of Aden-Abyan. They will give victory to Allah and His messenger; they are the best between myself and them'."

Our honorable Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, may Allah protect him, and our brothers in the forum of at-Tawhid wal Jihad:

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.
As to what follows:
News might have reached you about the recent conflicts between the fighters of Tawhid and the armies of darkness and shirk in many different and expanded territories of the Yemeni province in Abyan. We are now witnessing the outcome of these events, feeling its blessings and Allah's help to the call of Tawhid and the emergence of youth from everywhere to support and assist in ways that is not even thought of.
My question O Sheikh, is that in addition to what this region is positively known for socially, geographically, historically... a great hadith was stated concerning it which no scholars from amongst the Mujahideen of the Ummah had taken up the responsibility of researching its authenticity and illustrating it ideally.
We concluded this after researching that in the variety of tools and means including the Internet, but the effort and time were of no avail.
So would our Imam and Sheikh set out to research the authenticity of the hadith, explain it and record the benefits and connect the hadith to the reality of the Muslims today in Aden-Abyan and all of the Muslims lands?
Particularly when the brothers in Yemen love the Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi and regard him as an Imam to them, rush for his books and his fatawa. And perhaps the Sheikh can address and single out the Mujahideen in Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula with his advices and instruction.
Lastly: I call upon Allah to witness that I love you for his sake, O our Sheikh Abu Muhammad and I ask Allah that he gathers us in al-Firdaws al-A'la.

Answer by Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi::

All praise be to Allah and peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah.

As to what follows:

May Allah love you, the one you loved me for His sake. I ask Him, the Exalted, that He keeps you and us firm.

May He use us in giving victory to His religion and not replace us. This hadith reported by Imam Ahmed in his collection and Tabarani in his Mu'jam al-Kabir and others by way of Ibn Abbas that he said:

The Prophet (pbuh) said:

"An army of twelve-thousand will come out of Aden-Abyan. They will give victory to Allah and His messenger. They are the best between myself and them".

About that hadith the honorable Sheikh Sulayman ibn Nasir al-Ulwan - may Allah hasten his release - said that the hadith's chain is good and its narrators are acceptable.

Imam Ahmad narrated it in his collection and Ibn Abi Hatim in al-Jarh wa Ta'dil; and at-Tabarani mentioned it in al-Kabir. All of them by way of Abd ar-Razaq from al-Munthir ibn an-Nu'man al-Aftas that he said:

"I heard Wahb narrating that Ibn Abbas said... and he mentioned the hadith and then said: Abu Ya'ala narrated it in his collection from the hadith of Abd A'la ibn Hamad an-Narsi from Mu'tamar ibn Suleyman from the one who related it".

Ibn Adi narrated it in al-Kamil and Ibn al-Jawzi in al-'Alal al-Mutanahiyya by way of Muhammad bin al-Hasan bin Atsh as-Sana'ani from the one whom related it.

Muhammad bin al-Hasan was disputed about although Abu Zar'a and others have authenticated him. However al-Aqeeli, ad-Darqatni and others have weakened him. He didn't narrate it alone since more than one narrated it from amongst the memorizers from whom related it.

Al-Munthir bin an-Nu'man al-Aftas said Abu Hatim said, "Mu'tamer bin Suleyman and Hisham bin Yusuf and Abd ar-Razaq and Muhammad bin al-Hasan bin Atsh and Mutrif bin Mazin (the judge of Sana'a) and ibn Ma'een said about him that he is a trustworthy (narrator)".

Additionally, al-Bukhari mentioned it in at-Tarikh al-Kabîr and he didn't mention about it any of the Jarh or Ta'dil; nonetheless Ibn Habban mentioned it in his trusted ones.

Al-Haythimi said in Majmu' az-Zawaid that Ibn Ya'la and at-Tabarani narrated it and he said "from Aden, they are coming", and their men (i.e., narrators) are authentic ones.

Other than Munthir al-Aftas - and he is trustworthy (narrator) - his words finished there, may Allah keep him firm. His saying: "They are the best between myself and them". That is an indication to their righteousness, religion and goodness which the Prophet (pbuh) approved of, as being the best between him and them.

Also this could be a reference to the place i.e., they're the best between his place which is Medina and between Aden-Abyan.

Or it could be a reference to time and there is no doubt that this is greater. Meaning, they're the best between his time and the time of their emergence, and Allah knows best what's correct.

This is the blessing of Allah, He gives it to whomever He wills.

Some of those who spoke about this hadith said that in it there is a pleasant indication that the Caliphate could initiate in Aden-Abyan and that Yemen would be the capital of the Caliphate because armies usually move out from the headquarters of the Caliphate.

This is what they said and it is not necessarily the case. It might also mean that the Caliphate will be assisted by Yemen or that its people and fighters will come to the aid of Muslims or that it would recruit fighters and prepare such an army to repel the oppressive enemies in some of the Muslim land or to drive away an occupier or an apostate.

The hadith confirms what is mentioned in other ahadith regarding the description of the people of Yemen that they are the reinforcement for the people of Islam, they are the supporters of the truth and the people of Yemen are continuing to be so.

We have seen their assistance in Afghanistan, Iraq and in each field of the fields of jihad you see their crowds rushing to support the people of Islam.

They're distinguished with a sense of honor, rigidity and with taking upon themselves the initiative of supporting the people of Islam. Today the numbers in their crowds and assistance (towards jihad) have increased with goodness. This is so because they are endowed with insight about the believers path and are aware about the path of the criminals.

And it is also due to their abidance by the banner of Tawhid and not being deluded by anything else.

It is mentioned in another hadith that, "You will fight in the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open it for you, then you will fight Persia and Allah will open it for you, then you will fight the Romans (i.e., the West) and Allah will open it for you and then you will fight Dajjal and Allah will open it for you".
And in another version, "You'll conquer the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open for you".

We reached a stage where we came back from where we first started. Now the Arabian Peninsula is governed and dominated by the apostates. Security is given to secularists, crusaders, disbelievers and atheists. War is waged against those who believe in the oneness of Allah.

Righteous people are killed and prisons are filled with them as a result of their jihad which was disrupted and fought by its rulers who have taken the Christians and apostates as helpers and protectors...

And what is happening now is that the Arabian Peninsula has become in need of a new opening... And today we are delighted by seeing the pure banner of our brothers in Yemen and they're of those fighting under the banner of Tawhid and keen on doing such things and I ask if it wasn't those men then who is it?

In the collection of Imam Ahmed and Sunnan Abu Dawud, Ibn Hawala said:

"The Prophet (pbuh) said: "The matter will be that you'll be fighters: fighters in Sham and fighters in Yemen and fighters in Iraq".
Ibn Hawala said:

"Choose for me O Messenger of Allah if I am around to witness that", so he said: "hold on to Sham, verily it is the best of Allah's lands. He selects for it whom are righteous from among His slaves but if you decline then hold to your Yemen and drink from the pools where the rain gathers for verily Allah entrusted for me ash-Sham and its people".

In this hadith it says that a time will come upon the Muslims that they will be equipped fighters in each land, so it isn't for the sincere Muslim except to join the fighters in their country so that they would become from among the equipped Muslim fighters, and in the hadith the fighters of Yemen were mentioned. May Allah keep their fighters firm and give them victory and use them in giving honor to the religion.

Today the enemies of the religion are enraged and frightened of the fighters of Yemen, up to the point that I have heard comments by crusader leaders a few days ago which showed their worries and fears about what they consider to be a danger that is really threatening their interests.

This is especially when they consider the geographic locality of Yemen to be a sensitive position of high importance.

Their press and news agencies reported:

"The geographic position of Yemen is considered to be a matter of high importance especially since the United States and the Soviet Union raced and competed to take control over Yemen during the time of the cold war".

And regarding the airstrikes that the Americans directed to some places in Yemen, the press reports:

"Yemen stands in a strategic point in relation to navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and also in the way leading to Suez cannel and on its side Somalia is located where the situation there is even more complicated".

So it isn't strange that we hear from time to time news about the spread of American airstrikes and the flying of spy planes or the attacks on positions with cruise missiles. That's because all of that proves from one side the extreme fear that Yemen's fighters bring to the crusaders and their allies and it proves from another side that the rulers in these places are just as others nowadays: they're nothing but agents for the Americans, they have no rule or dominion over their own land, sea or air except through directions and coaching from their masters.

It is not a secret anymore that America is concentrating on this area (Yemen), follows its updates closely, sends special forces to train the Yemeni army and backs up the apostate regime there against whom they call terrorists.

And in exchange for this alliance and support between those who disbelieve and whom Allah the Almighty said about:

"And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. If you do not do so [i.e., ally yourselves with other believers], there will be fitnah [i.e., disbelief and oppression] on earth and great corruption".

(The Holy Quran, Surah 8. "Spoils Of War", verse 73)

It is known that in Yemen, its fighters and its people have special virtues which awaken one's desire to ally, support and urge the one to favor them and increase their numbers. To the extent that Imam Muslim categorized in his sahih a chapter on "Competing for superiority amongst the people of iman and the predominance of the people of Yemen in it".

From it:

- From their virtues is the hadith of Jubeer bin Mut'am from his father that he said: While we were walking with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) in the road of Mecca, he said: "They will come upon you the people of Yemen. They are like the clouds; they are the best of those on earth".

- And from them is the hadith of Abu Hurairah. He said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "There will come upon you the people of Yemen. They are the most soft-hearted and compassionate. Iman is in Yemen, wisdom is in Yemen and fiqh is in Yemen. And the head of disbelief is before the direction of the East". Al-Baghawi said in Sharh as-Sunnah: "This is praise for the people of Yemen due to their hastening towards iman and their good admittance to it".

- And this previous hadith has an addition which Imam Ahmed mentioned in his collection that a Bedouin came to Abu Hurairah and said: O Abu Hurairah narrate to us from the Prophet (pbuh) so he said: The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Verily, iman is in Yemen, wisdom is in Yemen and I find the relief from your Lord coming from the direction of Yemen".

The addition of: "I find the relief from your Lord coming from the direction of Yemen", was disagreed about in terms of authenticity because of its exclusivity to Shabib Abu Ruh as no one attested to him except Ibn Habban.

From the people of hadith, those who authenticated it and from them who weakened it. On the evaluation of its solidity is the explanation of what Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said:

"...the saying ‘from Yemen' clarifies the meaning of the hadith that Yemen doesn't have any specialty in the attribute of Allah - the Almighty - lest to assume otherwise, but from it (Yemen) came those whom Allah loves and they love Him, those whom Allah said about:

"Whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him".

(The Holy Quran, Surah 5. "The Table Spread", verse 54)

And it was related that when this verse was revealed, it was asked about those mentioned in the verse. So he (pbuh) referred to them as being the people of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, and the authentic ahadith were mentioned like his (pbuh) saying: "There will come upon you the people of Yemen. They are the most soft-hearted and compassionate. Iman is in Yemen, and wisdom is in Yemen". And those are the ones who fought the people of apostasy and opened the lands. In them the most Merciful relieves the agonies of the believers..."

Al-Qurtubi says in his tafsir: "It was narrated that the Prophet (pbuh) said:"Verily, I find the relief from your Lord coming from the direction of Yemen", and in it there are two interpretations: one of them is that it is a relief because of them successively converting in crowds, and the second meaning is that Allah, the Almighty, relieved the sufferings of his Prophet (pbuh) using the people of Yemen and therefore they are the helpers (al-Ansar)".

Ibn al-Atheer said: "He (pbuh) meant by that the helpers (al-Ansar) because Allah relieved in them the sufferings of the believers and they're Yemenis because they're from al-Azd".

- Additionally, there's the hadith of Abu Hurairah where he said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) say: "Pride and arrogance is found in al-Fadadin (people of loud noise coming out from their cattle and cultivation) - the Camel-herders and tranquility is found in shepherds, and iman is in Yemen and wisdom is in Yemen".

Abu Abdullah said: "It is called Yemen because it is on the right side of the Kaaba".

- And the hadith of Ibn Mas'ood who said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) pointed with his hand towards Yemen and said: "Iman is over there. Verily harshness and hardheartedness is in al-Fadadin (Camel herders) by the origin of the tails of cows where the horns of shaytan emerge in Rabee'ah and Muder".

- And from them is the hadith of Abdullah ibn Umar that the Prophet (pbuh) said: "O Allah! Bestow Your Blessings on our Sham and our Yemen". They said: "And our Najd". He (pbuh) said: "O Allah! Bestow Your Blessings on our Sham and Yemen". They said: "O Messenger of Allah! Our Najd as well!" Then I think that he (pbuh) said in the third time: "(In Najd) There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there the horn of shaytan will emerge".

- And from them is the hadith of Thawban that the Prophet (pbuh) said:"Indeed, I am in the midst of my pool pushing people away for the people of Yemen. I hit with my rod until it flows on them". An-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "This is a karamah (high repute) for the people of Yemen in their preceding to drink from it: a repayment for their good actions, their preceding in Islam and the assistance from Yemen. So he (pbuh) pushes the others until they (Yemenis) drink as they pushed in this dunya the enemies and harms away from the Prophet (pbuh)".

- And the hadith of Imran ibn Haseen who said: Banu Tameem came to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) so he said: "Glad tidings". They said: "You gave us glad tidings so give us something". So his face changed and then the people of Yemen came, so he said: "O people of Yemen accept the glad tidings as Banu Tameem didn't accept it". So they said: "We came to seek knowledge of the religion and to ask you about this matter".

- And in the hadith of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:"Allah turned me towards ash Sham and directed my back towards Yemen and said to me: ‘O Muhammad! I have made for you what is in front of you as spoils and as a means of living, and what is behind your back as a support and yet Islam is still increasing and shirk is reduced and its people until the two women walk as they don't fear anything except injustice'. By whom my soul is in his hands, days and nights won't pass by until this religion reaches the status of the star".

- And the hadith of Anas ibn Malik that he said: the Prophet (pbuh) said:"The people of Yemen have approached and they are more softhearted than you". Anas said: "And they are the first to come with handshaking".

- And in the tafsir of the verses: "When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, and you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes". (The Holy Quran, Surah 110. "Succour, Divine Support", verses 1-2) that when it was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "There will come upon you the people of Yemen; they are the most soft-hearted. Iman is in Yemen, fiqh is in Yemen, and wisdom is in Yemen".

- And in the Qur'an, Allah, the Exalted, says:
"O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. AndAllah is all-Encompassing and Knowing".

(The Holy Quran, Surah 5. "The Table Spread", verse 54)

Regarding the reason of this verse's revelation, Ayad al-Ash'ari said: "When this verse was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) pointed at Abu Musa al-Ash'ari using something that was with him and said: ‘They are his people'."

Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said in his book:

"And the support of Yemen whom Allah, the Almighty, said about: "Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him" at the time of Abu Bakr and Umar, crowds were coming from Yemen to fight for the sake of Allah.

So greetings are to those crowds, greetings to those supporters, greetings to those who help them and greetings to their grandsons whom we are pleased with of their revival in da'wah, jihad and the emergence of their banner in these days.

I find myself obliged with the news of Yemen's fighters - which are reported to us nowadays as a result of the visibility of their banner - to support them with inspiring (others), calling to help them and working to increase their numbers.

In mention of more virtues (of Yemen's people), the scholar of Yemen ash-Shawkani said:

"If you recognize that this verse is revealed about them in these ahadith, then know that it has contained the virtues of the people of Yemen:

The first of them: The exclusivity of Yemen's people to this great quality that Allah, the Almighty, will bring them forth at the time when others apostate from among the Arab tribes that live in the Peninsula and this is to show their high status as they are the party of Allah at a time when others leave this religion.

The second virtue: Allah's saying: "He will love [them] and they will love Him". There is nothing beyond this high reputation and honor from Allah, the Almighty, because whomever Allah loves, they attain such happiness which no happiness can resemble. They have been honored such an honor that can't be measured by the likes. They have succeeded in such achievements that aren't equivalent to others and they have been given a great repute that can't be matched.

The third virtue: Allah's saying, "And they will love Him". This is a magnificent status and a beautiful attribute. When the inconsiderable slave is loving to his Lord then that is the utmost objective in faith which is the reason behind winning an eternal bliss and it is the reason for being rescued from the painful punishment. From the greatness of loving Allah, the Almighty, and the signs of its authenticity is following the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) in his sayings, in his actions and by imitating him and embracing the noble guidance that he came with. The Almighty Allah says: "Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful". (The Holy Quran, Surah 3. "The Family Of 'Imran", verse 31). Thus whoever loves Allah and follows His Messenger (pbuh), then they attain the love from Allah, the Almighty. They have their sins wiped off and their status raised among the believing slaves of Allah.

The fourth virtue: Allah's saying: "[Who are] humble toward the believers". This humbleness towards the people of iman is from the most honorable characteristics and from the greatest attributes of the believers. It is this humbleness that is praised by Allah. It raises its doer in status and in it there is eradication of many of the evil attributes of which are arrogance and egotism.

The fifth virtue: Allah's saying: "Powerful against the disbelievers". It is the result of solidness in the religion, strictness in acting upon it and the hatred for its enemies and harshness on those who go astray.

The sixth virtue: Allah's saying: "They strive in the cause of Allah". Indeed jihad is the head of the Sharia obligations. With it the pillars of the religion are established, its status is raised and the circle of Islam is expanded. The sides of kufr diminishes and its pillars are destroyed.

The seventh virtue: Allah's saying: "And do not fear the blame of a critic". This is the matter of purity and standing alone for Allah and not paying attention to what opposes the truth and differs from the religion. And it came as an indefinite noun in the context of negation (in the Arabic language), so it includes all blames that come from any blamer regardless if they're dignified or miserable, close or far. What proves this attribute is their action of commanding the good and forbidding the evil in a way that even mountains cannot reach their height and it isn't intimidated by terror. When Allah the Almighty gathered for them these honorable attributes in this verse, He reminded them of the greatness of this grant and the kindness of this favor so He said: "That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all Encompassing and Knowing". In it there are implications that He gathered for them of His blessings which He didn't bestow on other slaves of His. It is as if this is an answer to whoever desires to have these great qualities or compete with them or envy them (in a good way) because of that"

So what other virtues can people challenge you with after this? O grandsons of the helpers of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh)! Follow the way of your grandfathers in supporting the religion and lifting the banner of Tawhid in a time when people betrayed the religion and Tawhid.

And what will harm you after this great blessing and magnificent reputation even if all gathered to plan against you and plot?

So hasten and prepare yourself. Perhaps Allah uses you in relieving the sufferings of the Ummah in our time like He used your grandfathers in relieving the sufferings of his Prophet (pbuh). Perhaps the Almighty uses you in giving victory to the religion. Become helpers in the cause of Allah as your grandfathers helped His Messenger (pbuh) and became the helpers in the cause of Allah. Perhaps He uses you in driving away the people of contemporary apostasy and open for you the lands like your grandfathers fought the people of the first apostasy and opened for them the lands.

O Allah, O protector of Islam and its people! Give victory to the monotheistic slaves of Yours in Your Sham and Yemen, in the East and West!

O Allah gather their lines and unite their hearts, direct their shooting and raise their banner and empower them and make them firm. Join us with them, and make us among those whom You love and they love You.

Scientific Basis for Juice Fasting

Despite the fact that fasting is an ancient practice promoted by religious practitioners through the ages, there also is a solid scientific basis for the practice of fasting. This scientific basis for fasting began to take shape in 1665 when the English scientist Robert Hooke discovered that cork is made of cells. In 1670 living cells (single cell, water dwellers) were described by the Dutch scientist Anton van Leeuwenhoek who invented the microscope.

However, it was not until 1839 that basic cell theory, as we know it today, was formulated. In that year the German botanist Matthias Schlieden and the German zoologist Theodor Schwann proposed that all living organisms, plant and animal, were made of cells and cell products. Thus, the biology of a whole organism could be understood through a study of its cells. The German pathologist Rudolf Virchow completed cell theory nineteen years later by proposing that the entire body is composed of cells and cell products. This led to an understanding of cell division and differentiation.

On a parallel track, a literal explosion of knowledge occurred in physiology in the seventeenth century, beginning with the discovery of circulation of the blood, in 1616, by the English physician William Harvey. This was followed by rapid advances in the understanding of the functions of the various body organs. Knowledge which we take for granted, for example, the purpose of the liver, the kidneys and the pancreas, was unknown before physiologists Marcello Malpighi of Italy and Regnier de Graaf of Holland illuminated the scientific world with their pioneering research. The existence of oxygen and the utility it has for living organisms simply was unknown before the work of John Mayow. The average man on the street today knows more about cellular physiology than the greatest scientist living in the sixteenth century.

Let me refresh your memory and perhaps add some new facts to what you know. The physiology of any living organism — your body, for example — is a dynamic interplay between anabolism (buildup) and catabolism (breakdown). Your body requires constant sources of fuel: oxygen and food. While oxygen is obtained through the lungs and taken in directly, food is broken down into the simple building blocks of life: single molecules of fat, sugar and protein. These simple building blocks are called fatty acids, sugars (also called the -oses — glucose, fructose, maltose, etc.) — and amino acids.

This job is done by your digestive system, which includes your stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver and pancreas. These single molecules enter your body by passing through the single layer of cells which lines your intestinal tract. This single layer of cells is designed to prevent the entry of anything more complex than a single molecule. Even sucrose, a simple combination of two simpler sugars, must be broken into its individual components before entry can be made into your body. The exceptions to these comments are some small polypeptides (two and three amino acids each) and a small amount of emulsified fat, which enter the body without complete breakdown.

Until molecules cross the single layer of cells which line the gut, they are outside your body, even though they are inside your intestinal tract.

Once access is gained to the body, these molecules are whisked around your body through your cardiovascular system by the action of your heart, and through the lymphatic system in the case of incompletely digested fat. The lymphatic system empties into the vascular system at the aorta, the large vessel coming out of the heart. Each living cell in your body is in direct contact with the cardiovascular system by circulation through the capillaries, so that these nutritive molecules can be collected by each cell on an as-need basis.

The real action is happening inside your cells. This is where the process happens which can most accurately be described as "life." Thanks to Schlieden and Schwann, we know that who we are at the biological level is a collection of individual cells. These cells are incredibly different from each other, specialized for particular jobs. However, they all have one thing in common: if they are alive, they are engaged in anabolism and catabolism — they are building up and breaking down — both processes at the same time.

The most important thing to know about a cell is that it wears a coat. This coat is known as the "plasma membrane." The plasma membrane is a continuous double layer of phospholipid molecules 75 to 100 angstroms thick. What makes life possible is that the plasma membrane is selectively permeable. It permits the exchange of molecules and atoms in and out of the cell, but on a selective basis. No molecule can come in or out without permission from the plasma membrane. This allows the cell to regulate its metabolism for its own purposes.

The most amazing thing about any cell in your body is that it works for the good of the entire organism. If it must lay down its life and die, so that the whole organism can live, it will. Your white blood cells are willing kamikaze warriors to combat any threat of infection by invading organisms. This characteristic of cells hints at the presence of an organizing intelligence living in the blood and sinews of your body, a soul.

There is much to be said about cells. I could tell you about the nucleus, the nucleolus, the nuclear envelope, the smooth endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, centrioles, Golgi bodies, liposomes, ribosomes and on and on. Perhaps I don't need to. You are cells. Your health depends on how well you take care of your cells.

Here is what you need to know regarding fasting. Catabolism creates waste products. These waste products are mixed into the cell soup, the cytoplasm, of the cell. For life to go on and vital health to happen, these waste products must be transported out of the body. The plasma membrane has the task of allowing these substances — principally carbon dioxide, urea and uric acid — to leave the cell, so that they can be picked up by the circulatory system and transported to the lungs (in the case of carbon dioxide), and to the skin, kidneys and intestines (in the case of urea and uric acid), where they leave the body.

Here resides the problem. The plasma membrane of each cell can somehow sense the concentration of toxic wastes in the circulatory system. If this concentration is above legal limit, the plasma membrane denies an exit visa for toxic wastes inside the cell until conditions outside the cell improve. When we overload our bodies with food, even if we are able to burn it up without gaining weight, we create a chronic condition of low grade toxemia.

Each cell becomes a storage unit for unusable, toxic molecules. This is not what a doctor would call "toxemia," because it is not life-threatening. However, if what you are interested in is the most health and vitality possible for you, this is definitely a chronic condition of low grade toxemia. Only children who are on a health supporting diet are immune from a chronic condition of low grade toxemia. All adults are suffering from this condition in some degree. The result is chronic, intermittent headache (look at the sales figures for over-the-counter headache remedies), or fatigue (take some No Doz, drink some tea or coffee), or arthritis (not natural to old age, but have a drug anyway), or irritability of the nervous system (have a tranquilizer), or insomnia (take a sleeping pill or drink some special herb tea — more enlightened)...and so on. Each pill you take adds to the total load of toxic wastes your cells must bear, and compounds the problem in the long run. Even people who have regular colon irrigation and eat the right foods can still be full of, well, toxic wastes.

Now the stage is set for fasting, for when we admit to the possibility that we may be in a condition of chronic low grade toxemia, the next question is "What can we do about it?" The answer: fast. Only when this state of knowledge is reached can we rationally consider the benefits of fasting from a scientific point of view.

Notice I said scientific, not medical. The mind set which doctors live in is: treatment of illness, once it is firmly established and obvious. Your doctor is the wrong person to talk to regarding a condition of maximum vitality or even regarding prevention of illness. Blue Cross cannot be billed for that, not yet anyway. Therefore, your physician is unlikely to know anything about the benefits of fasting, and when physicians find themselves not knowing about something (which is intolerable to a doctor's ego), you can be sure they will make up an opinion, usually a negative one.

Fasting creates a condition of low concentration of toxic wastes in the circulatory system. This is sensed by the plasma membrane of each cell and each cell will then let go of its load of toxic wastes. When this happens suddenly, as it does with fasting, the result can be a sudden case of mild systemic toxemia as the system cleanses itself. Those who fast must be prepared for a phase of headache, irritability, insomnia and fatigue. This is a natural part of the healing process and should be welcomed. How long a person should fast is an individual matter. A thorough cleansing will require at least a few days. A week-long fast will get the job done for most people. The fast should not end until the symptomatic phase (headache, fatigue, etc.) is finished by at least two days. Any fast should be supervised by a doctor experienced in fasting. Generally speaking, these doctors practice nutritional medicine.

Any degree of overloading your body with food results in the intracellular collection of waste products. Fasting allows you to tip the scales in the other direction, so that your body can release itself from this condition of autointoxication.

Let me underline one point: the addiction to quantity of food as measured in calories. This is the item which creates the conditions which make fasting a useful tool. Addiction to quantity of food, as measured in calories, is the condition in which we live, it is almost the air we breathe, certainly it is the paradigm with which we unconsciously think about and experience hunger. You may not think you are addicted. You may be slim and exercise regularly, and yet you are addicted to quantity of food as measured in calories. Try making it on 2000 calories per day, and you will discover an awareness of your addiction.

Pengharaman Injil atas keputusan kabinet 1986

Salinan kitab Injil yang dicetak di Indonesia tidak boleh dibawa masuk ke Malaysia kerana keputusan yang dibuat oleh jemaah menteri lebih suku abad yang lalu, kata Kementerian Dalam Negeri.

Setiausaha Bahagian Kawalan Penerbitan Teks aL-Quran kementerian itu Datuk Zaitun Ab Samad berkata kabinet pada Mei 1986 mengeluarkan arahan mengharamkan masyarakat bukan Islam daripada menggunakan kalimah Allah, Solat, Kiblat dan Kaabah.

Menurut Zaitun: "Ia bukan peraturan kementerian tetapi pihak pentadbiran perlu mematuhi keputusan kabinet.”

Kabinet, katanya tidak pernah membuat keputusan atau memberi kebenaran kepada kementerian untuk tidak lagi menahan 5,000 salinan kitab Injil yang disimpan di Pelabuhan Klang sejak Mac 2009.

"Kami juga tidak boleh mengambil sebarang tindakan (untuk tidak lagi menahan kitab berkenaan) kerana perbicaraan mahkamah dengan penerbitan Katholik, Herald masih tertangguh.

"Jadi sebarang tindakan akan membawa maksud sub judice (menghina mahkamah). Kita terpaksa hanya menunggu keputusan Mahkamah Rayuan,” kata Zaiton.Injil dalam bahasa Melayu itu dikenali sebagai Perjanjian Baru, Mazmur dan Amsal.

Semalam, Persekutuan Kristian Malaysia (CFM) mendakwa janji-janji Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak bahawa tiada pengharaman kitab Injil dalam bahasa Melayu, telah tidak dipatuhi oleh pihak berkuasa.

CFM, yang merupakan badan gabungan bagi semua kumpulan Kristian di negara ini berkata, Najib pada perjumpaan tahun lalu berkata kitab-kitab berkenaan akan dibenar diagihkan secara bebas sekurang-kurangnya di Sabah dan Sarawak.

Housefly Falls into One's Drink!

Abu Hurayrah narrated, "The Prophet (pbuh) said,

"If a housefly falls into the drink of anyone of you, he should immerse it completely in the liquid, then remove it, for one of its wings has the disease and the other has the cure."

Explanation of the Hadith

This Hadith means that the fly carries on one of its wings a disease, and on the other a cure from the same disease. When a fly falls into a container (of food or drink), it puts forward the wing carrying the microbe, as a self-defense. Imam Ibn Hajar said in his commentary on the hadith that one of the scholars observed that the fly protects itself with its left wing, so it can be deduced that it carries the cure or the antidote on the right wing. So if the fly is immersed in whatever it falls on, the antidote will destroy the venom or the microbe with the will of Allah. Some people are not pleased with the idea of immersing a fly in one's food or drink. However, this can be only applied in cases of emergency. When, for example, someone is in a desert, having only little water or drink. Such a person has no choice but to do as the Prophet recommended. Otherwise, he will die from thirst or infection. If someone disdains eating that food or drink, he does not have to do so, but he does not have the right to disclaim the authenticity of the hadith. The hadith is strongly authentic, as it is narrated by Imam al-Bukhari.

CHAKRAWATI FARMAS KING OF MALABAR, INDIA

The incident relating to King Chakrawati Farmas is documented in an old manuscript in the India Office Library, London, which has reference number: Arabic, 2807, 152-173. It is quoted in the book “Muhammad Rasulullah,” by M. Hamidullah:

“There is a very old tradition in Malabar, South-West Coast of India, that Chakrawati Farmas, one of their kings, had observed the splitting of the moon, the celebrated miracle of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) at Mecca, and learning on inquiry that there was a prediction of the coming of a Messenger of God from Arabia, he appointed his son as regent and set out to meet him. He embraced Islam at the hand of the Prophet, and when returning home, at the direction of the Prophet, died at the port of Zafar, Yemen, where the tomb of the “Indian king” was piously visited for many centuries.”

The old manuscript in the 'India Office Library' contains several other details about King Chakrawati Farmas and his travel.

Murad Wilfried Hofmann

Dr. Hofmann, who accepted Islam in 1980, was born as a Catholic in Germany in 1931. He graduated from Union College in New York and completed his legal studies at Munich University where he received a doctorate in jurisprudence in 1957.

He became a research assistant for the reform of federal civil procedure, and in 1960 received an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School. He was Director of Information for NATO in Brussels from 1983 to 1987. He was posted as German ambassador to Algeria in 1987 and then to Morocco in 1990 where he served for four years. He performed umrah (Lesser Pilgrimage) in 1982 and Hajj (Pilgrimage) in 1992.

Temporal and spatial gene expression and inductive interactions control the establishment of the body plan during embryogenesis in invertebrates and vertebrates. The best-studied vertebrate model system is the amphibian embryo. Seventy-five years after the famous organizer experiment of Hans Spemann and Hilde Mangold in 1924 our knowledge of the molecular mechanisms of the multi-step formation of embryonic axis has substantially improved. Although in the 30s and 40s the interest of many laboratories was focussed on neural induction (determination of the central nervous system), only crude factors from so-called heterogeneous inducers (liver, bone marrow, etc.,) could be isolated by the traditional biochemical techniques available at this time. An important breakthrough was the characterization and purification of a mesoderm inducing factor, the so-called vegetalizing factor (homologous to Activin) in highly purified from chicken embryos. Much later after the introduction of molecular techniques Vg1 and Activin (both belonging to the TGF-b family) and FGFs could be identified as important factors for mesoderm formation. It was in the 90s that secreted neuralizing factors (chordin, noggin, follistatin and cerberus) could be detected, which are expressed at the dorsal side of the early embryo including the Spemann organizer. In contrast to the classical view, these proteins act as antagonists to factors like BMP-4 localized on the ventral side. Of special interest was the fact that in Drosophila sog, homologous to chordin, determines the ventral side, while dpp, homologous to BMP-4, participates in the formation of the dorsal side. These data of evolutionary conserved genes in both invertebrates and vertebrates support the view that they are descendents of common ancestors, the urbilateralia, living around 300 million years ago. The expression of those genes coding for secreted proteins is closely related to inductive interactions between cells and germ layers. Recently it was shown that planar signals are not sufficient to generate a specific anterior/posterior pattern during the primary steps of neural induction, i.e., formation of the central nervous system in amphibians.

The Coccyx

The Coccyx is the last bone in the vertebral column. It was mentioned in many Hadiths that this bone is the origin of humans and the seed from which they will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment and that this part doesn’t decay in the earth.

The honoured Hadiths:

1. Abu Huraira reported that The Prophet (PBUH) said: “All what of son of Adam will (be eaten???) by the earthexcept the coccyx from which he was created and from which he will be resurrected ” Reported by Albukhari, Al Nassaii, Abu Daoud, Ibn Majah and Ahmad in his Mousnad and Malek in his Mouattaa.

2. As was reported by Abu Huraira the prophet (PBUH) said: “There is a bone in the Son Of Adam that the earth will never eat. They said what is it Oh Prophet of Allah? He said: It is the coccyx” Reported by Albukhari, Al Nassaii, Abu Daoud, Ibn Majah, Ahmad in his book “al Mousnad” and Malek in his book “Al Mouattaa”.

Bank darah tali pusat bantu transplantasi

Soalan: Apakah tujuan adanya bank darah tali pusat (cord blood bank)? Adakah kerajaan memberi kemudahan simpanan darah tali pusat?

Jawapan: Kini, tumpuan yang besar diberikan kepada usaha menemui dan memperkembangkan suatu punca tetap sel yang mampu menjana jenis-jenis sel yang pelbagai. Ia juga bertujuan mengelakkan masalah penolakan tisu transplantasi (pemindahan).

Sel-sel tersebut yang dikenali sebagai sel stem mempunyai kemampuan untuk berubah menjadi kebanyakan jenis sel atau tisu dalam badan manusia.

Sel stem manusia boleh diprogram untuk menjadi sel otot, sel saraf, sel jantung dan sel darah. Oleh itu, ia boleh diguna untuk menjana sel-sel dan tisu-tisu gantian bagi merawat beberapa penyakit seperti Parkinson, Alzheimer, leukemia, angin ahmar, serangan jantung, kencing manis, sklerosis multipel, artritis reumatoid dan lumpuh saraf tunjang.

Terdapat dua punca utama untuk sel stem:

1. Sel stem dewasa. Ia boleh diperoleh daripada janin yang gugur, darah tali pusat, sumsum tulang, darah dan otak. Sel-sel ini kurang mampu bertukar menjadi sel-sel khas berbanding dengan sel stem embrionik. Bilangannya agak kurang dan ada kalanya sukar untuk diperoleh (contohnya daripada bahagian otak dan retina mata).

2. Sel stem embrionik. Sel ini diperoleh daripada embrio yang terbentuk akibat persenyawaan luar tubuh (in-vitro fertilisation) ataupun melalui teknologi pengklonan (pemindahan nuklear sel somatik). Terdapat suatu perbahasan moral dan etika yang hangat dan berterusan tentang penggunaan embrio untuk penyelidikan.

Darah tali pusat merupakan punca yang agak baik untuk mendapat sel stem hemopoietik (HSC). Kira-kira 100ml boleh membina balik sistem hemopoietik dalam pesakit-pesakit yang kecil; biasanya kanakkanak.

Transplantasi darah tali pusat pertama berjaya dilakukan 16 tahun yang lalu. Sejak itu, lebih daripada 3,000 transplantasi sudah dilakukan di seluruh dunia. Hanya sebilangan kecil transplantasi dilaporkan di kalangan orang dewasa.

Kebaikan transplantasi darah tali pusat berbanding dengan transplantasi sumsum tulang atau transplantasi darah periferal termasuk:

1. Si penderma tidak perlu memasuki hospital untuk menjalani prosedur pendermaan. Pergerakan sel stem memerlukan ubat, misalnya cyclophosphamide dan G-CSF (untuk penderma darah periferal) dan ubat bius untuk penderma sumsum tulang.

2. Darah tali pusat mempunyai risiko yang lebih rendah untuk menyebabkan penyakit graft vs host berbanding dengan transplantasi sumsum tulang dan darah tepi.

Kini, tiada panduan yang rasmi di Malaysia tentang isu kutipan dan penyimpanan darah tali pusat untuk transplantasi pada masa depan.

Pusat Darah Negara sejak beberapa tahun dahulu telah mengutip dan menyimpan darah tali pusat sebagai projek Bank Darah Tali Pusat Nasional yang tidak bertujuan mendapat untung. Doktor-doktor boleh melakukan carian di senarai penderma awam untuk mendapat sampel daripada orang yang bukan saudara pesakit sebagai punca alternatif bagi transplantasi sel stem.

Isu ini bertambah rumit dengan adanya bank darah tali pusat swasta yang membuat tuntutan kesihatan tanpa sokongan fakta perubatan. Akademi Pediatrik Amerika Syarikat memberi amaran bahawa keluargakeluarga mudah terpedaya dengan aktiviti “pemasaran emosi” apabila anak mereka baru lahir. Prof. Nick Fisk, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Penasihat Saintifik Kolej Diraja Obstetrik dan Ginekologi berkata: “Kami bimbang tentang syarikat-syarikat yang menjadikan ibu-ibu mengandung sebagai sasaran untuk bahan bacaan yang berdasarkan emosi walaupun bukti saintifik masih belum mencukupi untuk menyokong tuntutan mereka.”

Kemungkinan untuk seorang anak menghidap suatu penyakit yang memerlukan transplantasi darah tali pusat masih belum dikenal pasti. Tiada anggaran tepat untuk kebarangkalian seorang anak memerlukan sel-sel sendiri yang disimpan. Tekaan yang paling hampir untuk keperluan ini adalah 1 dalam setiap 1,000 hingga 1 dalam 200,000 kes. Anggaran ini menunjukkan bahawa keperluannya amat kecil untuk seseorang menggunakan sel-selnya yang disimpan.

Petunjuk saintifik untuk kutipan dan simpanan darah tali pusat amat sedikit dan kecil. Keluarga yang mempunyai penyakit genetik yang boleh dirawat dengan transplantasi sel stem harus mengutip dan menyimpan darah tali pusat setiap anaknya. Kutipan darah tali pusat juga disyorkan dalam situasi-situasi yang tertentu, misalnya:

1. Seorang anak yang menghidap leukemia, supaya adanya bekalan sel stem sekiranya penyakitnya berulang dan dia memerlukan transplantasi.

2. Seorang anak yang memerlukan transplantasi sel stem tetapi penderma yang sesuai tidak ditemui.

Penyimpanan darah tali pusat oleh bank tali pusat swasta berdasarkan premis bahawa sel-sel disimpan untuk digunakan oleh ahli-ahli keluarga dan khususnya untuk anak tersebut sendiri (transplantasi autologus).

Transplantasi autologus menimbulkan masalahnya yang tersendiri kerana sel-sel stem seseorang mungkin tidak dapat mengubati patologi yang menyebabkan penyakit tersebut. Dalam kes leukemia dan penyakit kongenital seperti Talasemia dan Anemia Fanconi, memindahkan sel-sel sendiri dengan gen dan struktur imun yang cacat (dan menjadi punca penyakit tersebut) adalah kurang logik kerana ia akan “memulangkan” penyakit tersebut kepada diri sendiri.

Jumlah darah tali pusat yang dikutip pada waktu lahir, iaitu 80-100ml memadai untuk bayi atau si anak kecil. Bilangan sel stem tidak mencukupi sekiranya si bayi memerlukannya pada masa depan di alam remaja dan dewasa.

Oleh itu, konsep “insurans biologi” yang kerap dipromosikan oleh bank tali pusat swasta tidak tepat dan tidak kukuh. Perkiraan aktuari menunjukkan bahawa kemungkinan sel-sel tersebut akan digunakan sangat rendah. Dan juga, keperluan seseorang untuk ditransplantasi dengan darah tali pusatnya sendiri amat kecil.

Sebaliknya, penyimpanan darah tali pusat awam harus diperluaskan bagi kebaikan orang ramai. Kutipan darah tali pusat yang altrusitik (yang menguntungkan orang ramai) dan pendermaan khusus untuk keluarga berisiko tinggi harus digalakkan. Bank Darah Tali Pusat Nasional telah ditubuhkan untuk mencapai objektif-objektif ini tanpa kos. Di samping menyimpan darah tali pusat untuk penggunaan sendiri, orang lain yang memerlukan darah tali pusat boleh memanfaatkannya melalui transplantasi alogenik (berbeza dari segi genetik).

1.Pembersihan daripada toksin-toksin dalam badan.

Tubuh manusia terdedah kepada banyak bahan-bahan berbahaya dan toksin-toksin yang kadang-kadang tertimbun pada tisu-tisunya. Kebiasaannya toksin-toksin ini masuk ke dalam tubuh melalui makanan yang dimakan dalam kuantiti yang banyak. Sumber-sumber rujukan perubatan[i] menyatakan bahawa hampir kesemua makanan pada zaman ini mengandungi kuantiti kecil bahan-bahan bertoksin. Bahan-bahan ini ditambah dalam makanan sewaktu penyediaan dan penyimpanan seperti perisa-perisa, pewarna-pewarna, anti-anti pengoksidaan, bahan-bahan pengawet serta tambahan-tambahan bahan kimia daripada tumbuhan atau haiwan.

Science deals with the study of nature, its forces, processes and development. It is based on the analysis of evidence. It assumes, as a working hypothesis, that processes and events happen due to natural causes, not through divine intervention. It rarely intrudes in matters of morality, the existence and nature of deity, spirituality, etc.

Religion deals with matters of faith. Its main basis is often revelation from a deity -- either orally transmitted from generation to generation, recorded in a sacred text, or revealed to individuals through prayer. Most faith groups teach of the existence of one or more deities who created the universe, and continue to play a major role in managing it -- sometimes bypassing the laws of nature to create miracles. A main function of religion is to teach moral principles, mankind's relationship to the god(s) or goddess(es), behavior towards other humans, spiritual matters, etc.

Why is there a conflict?

Actually, science and religion are often not in conflict. Theologians don't care much about the tensile strength of steel when they have church buildings built. Scientists are generally not particularly interested in the functions of a soul. But sometimes science and religion overlap. Each then generally puts forth conflicting beliefs on the same topic.

Typical conflicts:

Perhaps the earliest known conflict between science and religion occurred in ancient Babylon in what is present-day Iraq. The priests had taught that lunar eclipses were caused by the restlessness of the gods. They were considered evil omens that were directed against -- and threatened the lives of -- their kings. Then, local astronomers discovered the 18 year and 11.3 day (223 synodic month) interval between lunar eclipses. This suggested that the eclipses had natural cause. The discovery did not affect the superstitious beliefs of the priests; they still regarded eclipses as a time of great danger to their kings. However, armed with an accurate prediction of the next eclipse, they were able to substitute a temporary king during the interval around the eclipse, thus giving protection to the real king. The substitute was killed afterwards, so that omen was always fulfilled.

If "disease" is a process of cure, does fasting cure "disease?" If there are no cures for "disease," if "disease" does not need to be cured, is fasting a cure?

To us there are not twenty thousand "diseases," but many local states growing out of a common systemic derangement. We do not seek to cure "disease," but to remove the causes of impairment and to afford the sick organism every natural or hygienic advantage that will facilitate its own spontaneous return to biological and physiological normality.

Does nature cure vomiting, or does she use vomiting as a means of ejecting unwanted materials from the stomach? Does the body cure coughing, or is coughing a vital act by which irritants and obstructions are expelled from the respiratory tract? Does diarrhea need to be cured, or is diarrhea a process by which obnoxious materials are rushed out of the digestive tract? Does nature cure inflammation, or is inflammation a repairative and defensive process by which broken bones are knit, lacerated flesh is healed and foreign bodies are removed from the flesh? Is there a need to cure fever, or is fever part of the body's own healing activities? Does not coughing automatically and spontaneously cease when there is no longer any need for it? Does not diarrhea cease when it has freed the digestive tract of all offensive materials? Does not inflammation subside when the bone has knit or the wound healed? What is there to cure about the various processes of the body that are collectively labeled disease?

Nutrition may be conveniently divided into two phases--positive and negative--corresponding to periods of eating and periods of abstaining from food. Negative nutrition has received the terms fasting, inanition, starvation. Fasting and starving are separate phenomenai well demarked from each other. Inanition covers both these processes.
Fast is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word, faest, which means "firm" or "fixed." The practice of going without food at certain times was called fasting, from the Anglo-Saxon, faesten, to hold oneself from food. Like most English words, the word fasting has more than one meaning. Thus, the dictionary defines fasting as "abstinence from food, partial or total, or from proscribed kinds of foods." In most religious fasts abstinence from proscribed foods is all that is meant. We may define it thus: Fasting--is abstention, entirely or in part, and for longer or shorter periods of time, from food and drink or from food alone.
A misuse of the term, fasting, is quite common. I refer to the use of the word fasting when a particular diet is referred to. We read and hear of fruit fasts, water fasts, milk fasts, etc., when talking of a fruit diet, a milk diet, etc. A fruit fast is abstinence from fruit; a milk fast is abstinence from milk; a water fast is abstinence from water.
The dictionary defines a diet as a "regulated course of eating and drinking, a specially prescribed regime. The daily fare, victuals, allowance of food; rations." To "diet" is "to regulate or restrict the food and drink according to a regime; to eat carefully or sparingly. To take food; to eat."

8 - Memberi wala’ kepada orang-orang mukmin dan berlepas diri daripada orang-orang kafir.

Wala’ : ialah kasih sayang, pertolongan dan menguatkan oleh seorang mukmin kepada saudaranya yang juga mukmin. Sebahagian daripada tuntutan-tuntutan iman yang sangat penting ialah menyempurnakan wala’nya kepada saudara-saudaranya yang beriman. {وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنْ الْمُنكَرِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاَةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَيُطِيعُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أُوْلَئِكَ سَيَرْحَمُهُمُ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ}(التوبة/71).

Dan orang-orang yang beriman, lelaki dan perempuan, setengahnya menjadi penolong bagi setengahnya yang lain; mereka menyuruh berbuat kebaikan, dan melarang daripada berbuat kejahatan; dan mereka mendirikan sembahyang dan memberi zakat, serta taat kepada Allah dan RasulNya. {وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنْ الْمُنكَرِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاَةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَيُطِيعُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أُوْلَئِكَ سَيَرْحَمُهُمُ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ}(التوبة/71)

9.71] Dan orang-orang yang beriman, lelaki dan perempuan, setengahnya menjadi penolong bagi setengahnya yang lain; mereka menyuruh berbuat kebaikan, dan melarang daripada berbuat kejahatan; dan mereka mendirikan sembahyang dan memberi zakat, serta taat kepada Allah dan RasulNya. Mereka itu akan diberi rahmat oleh Allah; sesungguhnya Allah Maha Kuasa, lagi Maha Bijaksana.

5- Bertaubat dan beristighfar.

Orang mukmin, apabila dia tergelincir dalam sesetengah amalan angkara syaitan lantas menjerumuskannya dalam perkara yang telah diharamkan oleh Allah SWT, dia segera bertaubat. Iaitu menyesal di atas kecuaian dalam kewajipan-kewajipan terhadap Allah, tidak berterusan dalam berbuat maksiat, memohon keampunan daripada Allah SWT. Firman Allah SWT :

{وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَنْ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ}(آل عمران/135).

3.135 Dan juga orang-orang yang apabila melakukan perbuatan keji, atau menganiaya diri sendiri, mereka segera ingat kepada Allah lalu memohon ampun akan dosa mereka - dan sememangnya tidak ada yang mengampunkan dosa-dosa melainkan Allah -, dan mereka juga tidak meneruskan perbuatan keji yang mereka telah lakukan itu, sedang mereka mengetahui (akan salahnya dan akibatnya).

4- Mendirikan perkara-perkara wajib dan menjauhi perkara-perkara haram.

Iman seseorang itu tidak sempurna kecuali dengan menunaikan perkara yang diwajibkan oleh Allah ke atasnya dan berhenti daripada perkara yang diharamkan oleh Allah SWT bersesuaian dengan ajaran yang datang kepada kita daripada Rasulullah SAW. Firman Allah SWT :

{ وَمَا آتَاكُمْ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ}(الحشر/7). [59.7]

Dan apa jua perintah yang dibawa oleh Rasulullah (s.a.w) kepada kamu maka terimalah serta amalkan, dan apa jua yang dilarangNya kamu melakukannya maka patuhilah laranganNya. Dan bertaqwalah kamu kepada Allah; sesungguhnya Allah amatlah berat azab seksaNya (bagi orang-orang yang melanggar perintahNya).

3- Menunaikan Perkara-Perkara Fardu

Hati yang disuburkan dengan iman, lazimnya akan membangkitkan anggota-anggota untuk melakukan amalan-amalan soleh dan bersungguh-sungguh dalam menunaikan segala perkara yang fardhu.

Sesiapa yang tidak menunaikan perkara-perkara yang fardhu, dengan menyatakan bahawa dia beriman, maka tidak syak lagi, dia sebenarnya pembohong yang telah ditipu syaitan yang telah menghiaskan amalan buruk kepadanya. Jika hatinya baik dengan iman maka akan baik juga jasadnya dengan menunaikan perkara fardhu. Sabda Rasulullah SAW :

أَلَا وَإِنَّ فِي الْجَسَدِ مُضْغَةً إِذَا صَلَحَتْ صَلَحَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ فَسَدَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ أَلَا وَهِيَ الْقَلْبُ ...

“... sesungguhnya di dalam jasad ada segumpal daging, apabila ia baik maka baik seluruh jasad dan apabila ia rosak maka rosaklah seluruh jasad, ketahuilah bahawa ia adalah hati” [Riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim]

1- Mentaati Allah SWT dan Rasul Nya.
Demikian itu kerana sesiapa yang percaya kepada Allah dan Rasul Nya, meyakini janji Allah adalah benar bahawa Allah SWT mengurniakan ganjaran pahala di atas ketaatan kepada Nya, ketaatan kepada Rasul Nya, mengikut perintah-perintah Nya dan suruhan-suruhan Rasul Nya maka, kepercayaannya terhadap yang demikian itu, mewajibkannya untuk patuh kepada perintah-perintah Allah dan Rasul Nya. Orang mukmin sentiasa memilih yang terbaik dalam setiap amalan yang dilakukan dengan memastikan setiap amalannya bertepatan dengan Kitab Allah dan Sunah Rasul Nya. Firman Allah SWT :

{وَمَنْ يُطِعْ اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُوْلَئِكَ رَفِيقًا}(النساء/69).

[4.69Dan sesiapa yang taat kepada Allah dan RasulNya, maka mereka akan (ditempatkan di syurga) bersama-sama orang-orang yang telah dikurniakan nikmat oleh Allah kepada mereka, iaitu Nabi-nabi, dan orang-orang Siddiqiin, dan orang-orang yang Syahid, serta orang-orang yang soleh. Dan amatlah eloknya mereka itu menjadi teman rakan (kepada orang-orang yang taat). Firman Allah SWT :

{مَنْ يُطِعْ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ وَمَنْ تَوَلَّى فَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا}(النساء/80).

4.80] Sesiapa yang taat kepada Rasulullah, maka sesungguhnya ia telah taat kepada Allah; dan sesiapa yang berpaling ingkar, maka (janganlah engkau berdukacita wahai Muhammad), kerana Kami tidak mengutusmu untuk menjadi pengawal (yang memelihara mereka dari melakukan kesalahan). Sabda Rasulullah SAW :

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كُلُّ أُمَّتِي يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَبَى قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ يَأْبَى قَالَ مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ أَبَى

Daripada Abu Hurairah RA bahawa Rasulullah SAW bersabda : “setiap umat ku akan masuk syurga kecuali orang yang enggan”. Mereka berkata : “siapa yang enggan wahai Rasulullah?”. Baginda bersabda : “sesiapa yang taat kepada ku dia akan masuk syurga dan sesiapa yang ingkar kepada ku maka dia telah enggan (untuk masuk syurga). [Riwayat Al-Bukhari]

Tuntutan Iman 1

1- Membenarkan setiap perkara yang datang daripada Allah SWT.
Orang mukmin membenarkan setiap perkara yang dikhabarkan oleh Allah SWT di dalam Al-Quran atau malalui lidah rasul Nya yang mulia dengan membenarkan secara pasti tanpa bercampur sebarang syak dan ragu. Orang beriman percaya bahawa setiap perkara yang telah menyalahi atau menentang setiap perkara yang telah dikhabarkan oleh Allah SWT merupakan sesuatu yang batil walaupun dihias dan diseleweng oleh pembawanya. Ini kerana orang mukmin percaya bahawa Ad-Din datang daripada Al-A’lim(Yang Maha Mengetahui), Al-Hakim(Yang Maha Bijaksana) yang meliputi ilmu Nya terhadap segala sesuatu.

Firman Allah SWT :

{فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِالدِّينِ}(التين/7). {أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ الْحَاكِمِينَ}(التين/8). [95.7]

(Jika demikian kekuasaanKu), maka apa pula yang menjadikan engkau seorang pendusta, (berkata tidak benar) mengenai hari pembalasan, sesudah (ternyata dalil-dalil yang membuktikan kekuasaanKu mengadakan hari pembalasan) itu? [95.8] Bukankah Allah (yang demikian kekuasaanNya) seadil-adil Hakim?

[2] Disyariatkan Ibadat Puasa

Sabda Rasulullah SAW: sesiapa yang puasa Ramadhan dengan keimanan dan ihtisab, diampunkan baginya dosa yang telah lalu- HR Bukhari dan Muslim.

Dengan keimanan ialah membenarkan bahawasanya ia adalah benar yang diktikadkan kelebihannya. Ihtisab ialah semata-mata kerana Allah SWT bukan menghendaki pandangan manusia atau selainnya yang bertentangan dengan ikhlas. Sesiapa yang memenuhi dua syarat tersebut akan mendapat keampunan terhadap dosa yang telah lalu.

[1] Dibuka Pintu-Pintu Langit, Ditutup Pintu-Pintu Neraka Serta Dibelenggu Syaitan-Syaitan

Daripada Abu Hurairah RA bahawasanya Rasulullah SAW bersabda: apabila datang bulan Ramadhan, dibukakan pintu-pintu langit, ditutup pintu-pintu neraka dan dibelenggu syaitan-syaitan- HR Bukhari dan Muslim.

Manusia mempunyai dua musuh utama yang sentisa menyeru kepada maksiat dan dosa. Kedua-dua musuh tersebut adalah syaitan dan hawa nafsu. Dalam bulan Ramadhan manusia hanya berdepan dengan satu musuh iaitu hawa nafsu dalam diri sendiri. Bulan Ramadhan merupakan waktu yang paling tepat untuk manusia berdepan dengan hawa nafsunya dalam mengenali diri secara lebih serius.

Kita melihat kebaikan, kemurahan hati dan peningkatan amal berlaku pada bulan Ramadhan secara drastik kepada kebanyakan manusia. Bagi mereka yang ingin mengubah diri ke peringkat yang lebih baik, sepatutnya menggunakan peluang di bulan Ramadhan sebagai tempat permulaan. Latihan selama sebulan dalam ibadat puasa, sembahyang sunat terawih, sedekah, zikir dan sebagainya sedikit sebanyak akan meninggalkan kesan kepada diri dan mereka yang benar di dalam mujahadah akan meneruskan ibadat-ibadat tersebut sehingga datang Ramadhan yang seterusnya.

Muqaddimah

Allah SWT menjadikan manusia dengan tujuan perhambaan yang hakiki kepada-Nya. Nikmat yang terlalu banyak diberikan jika mahu dibandingkan dengan amalan akan menginsafkan manusia yang akur dengan sifat rahmat Tuhannya. Jika Allah SWT menuntut kesemua nikmat-Nya daripada manusia supaya dibayar maka, kita semua pasti tidak akan selamat daripada siksa-Nya. Mengapa tidak, amalan atau ibadah yang dilakukan oleh manusia adalah berpunca daripada nikmat Allah jika difikirkan dengan teliti. Apabila pendengaran, penglihatan dan akal manusia di tarik balik oleh Allah SWT, pada waktu itu setiap diri akan dapat menilai betapa agung nikmat dan rahmat yang telah dikecapi selama ini. Firman Allah SWT:

{قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ سَمْعَكُمْ وَأَبْصَارَكُمْ وَخَتَمَ عَلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ مَنْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِهِ انظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ الآياتِ ثُمَّ هُمْ يَصْدِفُونَ}(الأنعام/46).

[6.46] Katakanlah (wahai Muhammad): "Bagaimana fikiran kamu, jika Allah melenyapkan pendengaran serta penglihatan kamu, dan Ia pula memeteraikan atas hati kamu? Siapakah Tuhan selain Allah yang berkuasa mengembalikannya kepada kamu?" Lihatlah bagaimana Kami berulang-ulang menerangkan tanda-tanda kebesaran Kami (dengan berbagai cara), dalam pada itu, mereka tetap juga berpaling - ingkar.

Ulama dan Amanah Menyampaikan Ilmu

Ulama adalah pewaris para Nabi. Warisan para Nabi adalah ilmu pengetahuan. Maka, tugas para Nabi adalah tugas para ulama. Firman Allah SWT:

[3.187] Dan (ingatlah) ketika Allah mengambil perjanjian setia dari orang-orang yang telah diberikan Kitab (iaitu): "Demi sesungguhnya! Hendaklah kamu menerangkan isi Kitab itu kepada umat manusia, dan jangan sekali-kali kamu menyembunyikannya".

Allah SWT telah mengambil perjanjian daripada ahli kitab supaya menyampaikan ilmu dan jangan menyembunyikannya. Bukankah kita umat Islam telah diberikan kitab Al-Quran yang mana orang yang mengetahui tentang Al-Quran ialah golongan ulama? Perjanjian ini adalah di antara Allah dan ulama. Sungguh pun begitu, orang Islam yang bukan ulama jangan berasa senang hati, adakah kita telah mengikut ajaran Al-Quran dan Sunnah yang disampaikan oleh para ulama? Sesungguhnya tiada siapa yang akan terlepas kerana Allah SWT pasti akan mempersoalkan janji-Nya. Firman Allah SWT:

Maksiat-Maksiat dan Tugas Amar Makruf Nahi Munkar

Umat Islam sekarang ini kebanyakannya begitu jauh daripada ajaran Al-Quran dan Sunnah. Maksiat berleluasa secara terang-terangan. Hukum Allah SWT dan Sunnah Rasul-Nya dipinggirkan. Tanda-Tanda Allah SWT Ingin Membinasakan Suatu Kaum

Allah SWT menurunkan Al-Quran sebagai petunjuk kepada manusia. Dia telah menyatakan secara jelas apakah perkara-perkara yang diredhai dan apakah perkara-perkara yang dimurkai. Oleh itu, para Rasul telah diutuskan kepada manusia. Jadi, tiada alasan bagi manusia untuk menyalahkan Allah SWT atau Rasul-Nya kerana segala petunjuk telah dijelaskan. Manusia sendiri yang bersalah kerana mereka menolak petunjuk Allah SWT dan Rasul-Nya atau tidak mengendahkan petunjuk Al-Quran dan Sunnah.

Allah SWT menyatakan di dalam Al-Quran bagaimanakah caranya Dia membinasakan suatu negeri. Firman Allah SWT:

Ilmu dan Amal

Allah SWT mewajibkan kepada umat Islam solat lima waktu sehari semalam. Dalam solat, kita meminta kepada Allah SWT supaya menunjukkan jalan yang lurus(sirat almustaqim). Firman Allah SWT dalam surah Al-Fatihah :"Tunjukkanlah kami jalan yang lurus. (iaitu) jalan orang-orang yang Engkau telah beri nikmat kepada mereka, bukan jalan mereka yang dimurkai(Yahudi) dan bukan pula jalan mereka yang sesat(Kristian)".[Al-Fatihah Ayat 6-7].

Selepas itu, manusia terbahagi dalam menerima kebenaran kepada dua kumpulan. Satu kumpulan beriman kepada Allah dan rasul Nya. Imannya kukuh dan tetap seteguh iman gunung-gunung yang terpasak. Satu kumpulan lagi telah menolak dan mengharamkan kebaikan, sesat dan lalai. Semoga Allah melindungi kita.

Memikul Tanggungjawab Dakwah Untuk Mencari Keredhaan Allah

Nasihat Kepada Pemerintah

Hendaklah kamu beriltizam dengan syariat Allah SWT dan dirikanlah Islam dalam sistem dan perundangan. Berikanlah wala' (pertolongan dan kasih sayang) kepada Allah, rasul dan orang-orang beriman. Tegakkanlah keadilan dan kebenaran. Kaji semula sistem pendidikan, tarbiah dan penerangan supaya bertepatan dengan syariat Allah dan menyampaikan amanah. Setiap umat mempunyai risalah dan risalah kita adalah iman dan islam. Menjadi kewajipan media massa dan sistem pendidikan memikul risalah ini dan setiap penduduk suatu tempat hendaklah memperbaiki kekurangan berdasarkan kondisi mereka.

Bentangkanlah jambatan-jambatan kepercayaan di antara kamu dan pendakwah-pendakwah serta ulama lantas masyarakat kesemuanya akan menjadi stabil. Jauhilah komplot-komplot yang melibatkan kamu dalam mewujudkan pertembungan di antara kerajaan dan rakyat serta pemimpin dan ulama.

Nasihat Kepada Ulama Islam

Dirikanlah tanggungjawab dan kewajipan yang dibebankan ke atas bahu kamu. Kamu akan dipersoalkan tentangnya di hari kiamat. Ajarkanlah kepada manusia agama mereka. Hadapkan mereka kepada jalan yang baik. Terangkan kepada mereka perkara kebenaran dan jangan sekali-kali menyembunyikannya. Wajibkanlah atas diri kamu cara berhikmah, sentiasa saling berpesan di antara kamu serta bermuafakat. Jauhkanlah daripada pertikaian, satukan pendapat-pendapat dan saf-saf kamu. Menjadi kewajipan kepada ulama untuk bangkit membela kepentingan ummah dan hendaklah mereka suka hanya kerana Allah dan marah dalam setiap perkara yang Allah murka. Mereka hendaklah menjadi contoh ikutan yang baik di saf hadapan menebus akidah dan ilmu mereka dengan harta dan nyawa untuk mencari redha Allah SWT. Janganlah kamu kedekut untuk memberi nasihat kepada pemerintah dan masyarakat umum pada setiap masa. Jangan kamu teragak-agak di dalam menyatakan kebenaran dan janganlah fitnah-fitnah dan kesukaran-kesukaran mengecualikan kamu daripada menunaikan amanah.
